Today is the day!! MediKids is now collecting gently used/new stuffed animals across 3 different locations on campus: Woodland Glen V, University Flats, and the Jacobs Science Building!! All donations will go towards children and families at the Children’s Miracle Network, Salvation Army, and the Nest! The drive will be running from today until the end of the semester. Committee Heads, Katie and Sophie, led a trip to the RISE STEM Academy our wonderful members hosted an activity using stations of stethoscopes, x-ray puzzle, and coloring books (that the girls got to keep)! We love showcasing all the fantastic things our members are doing in the community! 🍎🩺❤️

We will also have a new doctor for you all to shadow. If anyone still wants to buy a MediKids crewneck, we have a couple left that will be sold at this meeting, firstcome first serve. What we are super excited about is CLUB PHOTOS! If you have a MediKids crewneck, we encourage you to wear it but that is not a requirement. We will have a professional camera to take pictures of you and your friends, the officers, and everyone present. Please make sure to come and take advantage of this opportunity!📸💐

Twice a month, officers from MediKids visit the children at the Salvation Army Clinic and meet up with medical students at the UKCOM to hosts arts, crafts and various games! Last night, we did some coloring and handed out hand-made blankets to residents. ☺️🧁

Hope everyone has had a great first few weeks of classes! We have just wrapped up our holiday clothing drive and have prepared a summarizing infographic with the exciting results of our drive!! We had collection boxes all across campus from public spaces like JSB and CP to residential locations in University Flats and Woodland Glen V. Together with everyone’s help, we gathered 15 large bags of clothes, each up to 12 lbs, for an estimated 180 pounds of clothing donated!!! We received gently worn pants, sweatshirts, winter wear, jackets, socks, and more that were all donated to the Lexington Rescue Mission here in town. Shoutout to Sadie and Kinsey who put together such an amazing drive and thank you to everyone who generously donated! See you all at our next meeting for more announcements ⛅️🩺🥼🤍

He is a member of the UK College of Medicine Admissions Committee and will be providing some very IMPORTANT and EXCITING tips on getting into medical school!! Next Thursday’s event is open to all MediKids members and of course any other UK students!! Please bring your friends and show up and show out at this event. We will be RAFFLING a MEDIKIDS crewneck off based on who is present at the meeting. See you there!! 💓☺️
